The first post of 2016 has finally arrive, though a week late. Last year, I had written the first blog on the first day of the year, with an aim to continue the trend throughout. I am glad I succeeded in it. This year, while writing was on my agenda, there was something else hovering over my mind. A long weekend awaited all of us during the beginning of the New Year. Almost everyone that I know of had some or the other plans ready. We on the other hand had just a small idea of heading to Bengaluru to be with family (His parents and sister). So while on one hand, I checked for Tatkal tickets to Bengaluru, I simultaneously opened multiple windows to see 'weekend getaways from Bengaluru'. That's how I zeroed down on Chikmagalur. While there are many lessons learnt on this impromptu trip, there is no denying that it was the need of the hour too. Like they say, we should be grateful to every little thing in our lives. Perhaps, this is the time to be so. With three more days to usher into a new year, we all have hopes, aspirations, to-do lists, schedules, timelines and what not for the coming year. But I guess, it is also the time to sit down, and look back at the year that's about to end. That it will bring back memories- some good, some bad- there is no doubt that it will also help us shape our new year in a better way. So, while in my earlier post, I talked about how 2015 had been a challenging and adventurous year for me; in this post, I want to be grateful to the little joys that I had this year. Not sure whether all of you have read my first post of the year- here is what I began my blog with this 2015. Incidentally, it was written on the very first day of the new year and happened to be picked by Blogadda as their Tangy Tuesday Picks. I am glad that out of everything written in the post, I held on to one thing at least- being active on the blog. Here I stand now, with the 70th post of the year that is about to bid goodbye in three more days. They say what you do / what happens to you, on the first day of a new year, goes on for the entire year. I do not know how far that's true or could possible have anything to do; but there is no other better way (I guess) to start the new year with, than doing what you love the most. So, here I write the first post for this year wishing you all a very very Happy and Prosperous New Year. I am sure what's gone has gone for the better and what's arrived has arrived to make your life best. The year that's gone by has surely had its own set of happiness and love, ups and downs, positives and negatives; let's hope this new year will bring in a serenity that you may have desired all through the past year.
