Conflict of a Wavering Mind

I was sitting on the chair staring at the blank word document. Not sure of what I wanted to write, I simply started scribbling whatever I could fathom. Two lines down, I realized that I have too many thoughts in my mind. And, to give shapes to those thoughts, I would have to sit down, think, re-think and then finally 'pour' them out on the document. But, what exactly then would I write on the blank document? Wouldn't it be better to keep it white and plain, without the scribbling? Or, if I do happen to phrase the perfect sentences, the perfect similes, the perfect idioms, the perfect storyline, will those 'perfections' depict the inner battle that I am going through right now? Right now, where I sit and write, it is quiet. Except for the ceiling fan making the intermittent noise, the shrills and laughter of the children playing down, the sound of the temple bell hinting at the evening prayer session being over, the usual honking of vehicles that just went by, t...

Keep Calm and Stay Positive- Day 6- Void, left behind

There is a sense of agony in my mind Trying to fathom the obvious I stumble upon memories That are not to be remembered. Driving me through those memories My mind wanders into another zone Where there is no grief, no sorrow Where there is only joy and smiles. I think harder, plunge deeper Deep into the zone which is unbelievable But in vain, as there is a void Before the zone, which takes me in. I had dared to overlook the void I had tried to trespass over it But in vain, as the void was clever It caught me off guard without a warning. Yet I emerge out of the void This time stronger than it imagined And as it tried pulling me in again I shunned it away Like there wouldn't come another day Like there wouldn't come another chance. Traversing my mind's path I see the zone which is unbelievable I move my hand to hold onto it Like a thin air, it holds my hand Takes me into the zone where there are no sorrows, only joy. It takes me deeper and deeper F...

What's My Aim?

Image
What's my aim? Do I know or not? Staring aimlessly at the horizons, That look back at me Seeking answers That I have not. I try to confide in the unknown surroundings, What's gone shall never return, But what lies in the present and the future, Shall be self governed. Yes, I shall be the writer of my destiny But how? For an aimless vision stares at me I am blinded, god knows with what I am burdened, or is it my mind That's crippled by thoughts. My heart yearns to make peace with my mind, But.. Here I am, hardened like stone Still like a potrait, Closed like a shell, Aloof like that barren tree Standing tall on the road that I see, Don't I know? What indeed is my aim? Or is it my oblivion Forcing me to ignore the same.

The Window

You have been there all this while, Without moving anywhere, to change in style, Oh! how will you move? You are just another non-living creature, merely a window, existing for the sake of it, in every house or building or office or car; But The Window,I am talking about, does not exist 'merely,' It is The Window, that has shown me everything A tree stood tall outside it, 13 years ago; It still stands tall, only the leaves wither away every new season; It is the same window, that has accompanied me when I was low or happy; I stared out of it into the sky imagining where my life will be years down the line, penning down some memorable poems, or the love letter; It stayed there, while my life moved from childhood to adulthood; I cried sitting next to it, when I was reprimanded, I cried sitting next to it, when I missed my love, The Window, is still there, only the things outside have changed, so has changed my equation with it, I no longer sit eve...

Being Stuck

How many times have you been stuck in the middle of somewhere? Unable to decide, which way to go? What to choose? If chosen, whether the decision was correct in all aspects or was it merely an answer to the millions of questions popping in your head. Guess, everyone has their own way of looking at things. What might be an easier decision for you, might turn out to be a difficult one for someone close or related to you. Often, while deciding on these choices, we tend to forget the things that we are surrounded with. We forget that had it not been for the decisions we have been taking till now, our present wouldn't have looked the way it is. Our present looms under the shadows of the past thereby affecting the future. As the saying goes, "Karmanye Waadhika Raste Maa Faleshu Kadachana" , to translate in English, Keep working hard without worrying about the result. There can be no short cut to hard-work. If you work hard, results will automatically appear and well enough....
