There is something about the rain!!

There is something about the rain,
The freshness it brings to every object aroundThe smell of wet sand
The splitter and splatter of the rain drops
There is something about rain
that makes you forget every pain.

But the prelude to a rain
might not be as fresh,
The hot and sultry weather
The clouds playing
hide n seek with the sun
The perspiration that doesn't
give a breather
There is something about the rain
that makes you forget your pain.

Then there is the usual nostalgia
that strikes you when it rains,
Reminding you of people,
places, food and what not,
Yet you choose to forget those
And enjoy the present moment
embracing the rain
There is something about the rain
that makes you forget your pain.

    It just reminded me of my childhood days in Assam, where the roof structures are very different. When the rain drops fall on the tin roofs, the sound makes you fall asleep and you get in a dream world.After reading this poem, i seriously am missing my childhood days.Brilliant work and very nicely framed.Keep up the good work!

A RANDOM THOUGHT

For the past few months i have been thinking of writing something on my blog. Whenever I switched on my laptop, and opened a new microsoft word document, words just refused to flow out of my mind. It seemed my mind was all blocked. No ideas, nothing, i just sat in front of my laptop looking at the screen and wondering what to write. Days turned into months but words refused to flow. Today, a few minutes back I got a call from my friend, (whom I was actually thinking of at that very moment)and don't know what? just what struck inside my mind and I thought lets open the blog directly and start typing something!!
